Hi everyone! Im new to the forum. Currently own a Sunnybrook 30foot travel trailer and looking to upgrade to the cyclone 3914. It says dry its 13700 but im wondering if anyone has actually weighed one dry. Im not looking to start a weight war but i have a 2011 F350 SRW and i know ill probably be a little over weight once loaded but im trying to figure out how much over weight. Thanks

Hi bigd_rock,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

If you have access to the 3914, look inside the frame of the entry door for a sticker with the actual empty weight as the trailer was configured leaving the factory. Depending on options, sometimes the actual weight can be as much as 1,000 lbs more than the spec on the base product.

More importantly, the number you ought to focus on is the GVWR, which is probably 18,000 or thereabouts. You can plan on pin weight being around 20% of the GVWR or around 3,600 lbs. Add to that the weight of the hitch, tools, cargo, passengers and pets and anything else in the truck.

Most people recommend at least a 1 ton dually for towing large toy haulers.

As Dan said, options add to empty weight. The yellow sticker on a specific unit is the ONLY good number. So, go to a dealer, and look at a unit. Then see what they added for options and you'll have an idea what the average unit comes in at.

Know that may, or may not include water, propane and gasoline if so equipped. Read the sticker.

Yes, the large units require a dually.
