I recently purchased a 2011 Sundance XLT 285BH. The main reason was for it's claim to be 1/2 Ton Towable. I researched a lot on weights/pin weights and found that model to be roughly 7600lbs DRY WEIGHT and 1450lbs PIN WEIGHT. My own fault, but after purchase I found the actual dry weight on the unit to be 8100lbs. This is fine as my F150 Ecoboost w/ Max Tow can handle 11,100lbs BUT now I have no idea without hitting the scales as to what the pin weight actually is?! I have read on these forums to expect roughly 20% of your dry weight...does this calculation give you your DRY PIN WEIGHT or that I should expect once loaded to wind up with a pin weight of 20% of my dry weight? If this is the case I'll be fine, otherwise I'm bound to surpass my payload of 1850lbs. Any information would be fantastic! Thanks in advance.
