3500/F350 series trucks

OK, gotta ask a favor..... Please stop calling these beasts "1 ton trucks". My F350 as it sits with tool box, aux tank, hitch, misc., weighs a bit over 4 1/2 tons (9000 lbs) GVWR is 7 tons (14,000 lbs). Even the 1500 and 2500 series are way over a ton.... It's been too long since a ton truck capacity wa 2000 lbs... Just a request. Thanks.

Agreed. Most "Half Ton" trucks can be optioned to 2000 lbs capacity. Park any newer 1/2 ton next to an older 3/4 or 1 ton and they almost dwarf them in comparison.

I have always heard 1500 refered to as 1/2 ton, 2500 3/4, 3500 1 ton. I thought it had to do with ability to carry cargo. Sounds like an old nickname sticks with those numbers.
