Looking at a new Ford Dully.
it has a 3.73 Limited Slip Rear End
what everyone's opinion of this gear ratio for towing a 10k plus rig
I would be interested in what kind of MPG can be had with one of these trucks.
My 250 gets 10-12 towing and 16 average in and out of town driving.
Thanks
Dan

I purchased a 2014 f450 two months ago. It has a 4:30 rear axle. We took a four hour road trip this past weekend and the truck averaged 17 mpg. I haven't pulled the trailer yet, so I can't comment on the fuel economy while towing.

I can tell tell you that the truck has amazing power and handling.

Thanks
Jeff

I've got a 2012 with the setup you describe. Pulls our 16K Landmark with no issues whatsoever. Get 10.5 to 12.5 towing depending on terrain, etc. Without rig, strictly hiway we get 18+, city/hiway combined we get around 15-16.

I, too, have the same truck you described and get the same mileage you mentioned. I do have air bags so that may affect the towing and ride, but towing is great and the ride is about the same, or maybe a little better, as my former 2011 F250 6.7 that I used to pull my TT.

If you want a Ford DRW you are stuck with that ratio, unless you want a 450.
It will tow your 10K rig just fine.
Your mileage would most likely be the same.

Ride will be about the same.

I have a 2013. I get 13 average city/hwy and 8 while towing a 18K rig. All calculated the old fashioned way, Miles / gallons.
