We purchased our 2008 Heartland 5th Wheel camper at the end of May 2007 . :)
We took our Sundance to Elkhart, IN in August 2007. I had contacted Heartland from their website by email about getting a booth installed (we had the dinette table). After some emails and a phone call from Jim at Heartland we were on our way to Recreational Specialties at 2010 1/2 Cassopolis Street in Elkhart, IN Phone: 574-266-7911 Fax: 574-262-9827. Jim had sent me the information on where to camp close by, he was so helpful.
We arrived a day early and decided to go over to Heartland and meet Scott and Jim. It was a pleasure to meet them both and later Scott took us on a tour of the plant...it was very interesting to see how the campers are made.
The next day we headed to have our booth put in at Recreational Specialist...we were greeted by Ron Green on arrival and introduced to another Ron and Matt Cameron. Ron and Matt did a walk through our camper with my husband, Doug and asked us about any concerns we had...there were a couple of small things, paneling had come loose in the bedroom and one of the blind strings had come unscrewed from the wall. While they had our camper they also installed front stabilizing bars, electric rear jacks, roof vent covers and replaced one of the decals that had been ripped a little before we had purchased it. We are very happy with all the work that was done on our camper. The guys were so very polite and helpful.
So on that day back in late May we had no idea when we purchased our 5th wheel what a great group we were getting connected with.
You just never know what the day will bring...
Would we recommend Recreational Specialties to anyone? Our answer...yes, we definitely would...and have. Our rating for them would be a 5.

I made a photoshow to thank the guys for all they did for us...if you would like to see it, you can view it here: http://photoshow.comcast.net/watch/dF7JI3EY

Just a note - the Lafoons are just some of the many "great" people that I have had the opportunity to meet while through Heartland. I remember when they first sent me that picture show to say "thanks!". I can't tell you how much it meant to hear back from them like that. This is why we do what we do.

Bob & Christina-Thanks about the video, I really enjoy doing stuff like that. We would love to come to Branson and I have wrote it on my calendar. We have a lot of loose ends right now, trying to get them all tied up. Sounds like a great time. Would love to meet you too.

Awesome slideshow. I can't wait to get to take the tour; hopefully at next year's rally.

I see you're from Armuchee...my "Outlaws" live over in Lyerly! Been through Armuchee/Adairsville a few times when I was stationed in Augusta & would come up for a visit.

May I ask where you purchased your Sundance; Georgia, Alabama, or Tennessee? Trying to set up my little Heartland network on the off-chance that we need something when we're down there visiting.

Thanks & "Go Dawgs!"

I have to add my thanks to Recreational Specialties and especially to Matt Cameron for helping me to zero in on a problem I have filling the tanks on my new Landmark Cape Cod (See post "Fresh water tank fill"). Jim Beletti posted a photo of the tanks and recommended I contact Matt to set up an appointment. The weather between here and Elkhart is making travel to there impossible, so Matt gave me some guidance in tracking down the nature of the problem (narrowed it down to the vent line from the rear tank is blocked; front tank vent okay) and how I might get at it and make the repair here in TN in time to dry camp at the Rally in Perry, GA, in a couple of weeks. Matt didn't have to do this; it deprived him of some business. But he did and it reflects the caliber of Receational Specialties and the quality of the folks there. Matt, many thanks. I hope to meet you when the weather warms up and we can get to Heartland for a tour. Your business certainly complements Heartland.

And to Doug, Debra and Amy at Sundance2, your show was great and did a fine job of complimenting two fine companies. Hope to meet you at Branson.

Jim, thanks for a great forum and the personalized assistance. It is much appreciated.

Dave...yes, I was born and raised in Rome/Armuchee area. I know where Lyerly is located and Adairsville is right up the road from our house. We bought our RV in Chatsworth, GA at a place called United RV Center, we bought the last new RV they had on the lot...they were going to only sell used ones. Sorry it took so long to get back on the forum. We have made some major life changes. My husband happened up on a job in Panama City Beach as night manager at a Campground. We were in the process of getting the house up for sale and everything else in order to get back so he could get to work. We are now living in our Sundance and if we had any idea this would happen...we would have bought a bigger rig...guess we will just wait until the house sells.

Fivernine, glad you enjoyed the show, thanks. Sorry we didn't make it to the rally. We had a month long trip planned for June and ended up at the beach with a new job and life. We have wanted to move to PCB, FL for years...it was just perfect timing...being at the right place at the right time. We have been work campers for 5 months now and are so loving it.
