Modified forum settings for 'Read Posts' tracking! PLEASE READ!

All,
Today we made a global change on the forum. This change will affect how the system keeps track of which forum posts you've read.

The old way:
Once a user has been inactive for a certain amount of time, all threads and forums are considered read. Individual threads are marked as read within a session via cookies.

The new way:
Unless a user specifically reads a thread/post, or manually marks the thread as read, the post stays 'Unread' for that user.

We believe this will provide a better overall experience and allow users to keep better track of posts they've yet to read.

The immediate effect:
Almost all posts / threads have been reset to un-read. If you'd like to start from a clean slate of all 'read', then from the main forum view, click the 'Quick Links' menu item at the top, then click 'Mark Forums Read'.
This can also be done on a per-forum or per-thread basis by clicking the 'Forum Tools' or 'Thread tools' menu respectively when viewing a specific forum or thread.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thanks,
LK
