washer valves

We have the splendide stackables. Usually, we take short trips so the washer doesn't get a lot of frequent use. In our Landmark, it is a pain to get to the washer valves, which we usually leave turned off when the unit is not in use. My question to those who make frequent use of your washer--do you leave the valves turned on or off during the times you are not using the machine?

Thanks for the input.

We have Whirlpools, but we leave the valves on all the time.

I think the manual says to close the valves when not in use...so I do. I installed my own valve (from lowes) that has a large paddle handle which makes it easier to do. Found it in the garden area.

Mine are on all the time, also. Actually, the OEM hot water valve won't fully shut the flow. Tried some secondary valves on them but they leaked at the connections and soaked the floor. I may open up the wall behind the machine and put some real valves in there.
