On Thursday, July 24, 2014 an EF-1 tornado hit the Cherrystone Campground in Cheriton, VA on the Eastern Shore. Sadly, two campers were killed and many more injured.
This is an excerpt from the news article. "Corinne Geller with the Virginia State Police said the husband and wife, both 38 years old, are from New Jersey. Troopers identified them as Lord Balatbat and Lolibeth Ortega.
Their three children are in the hospital after Thursday’s storm. Their 13-year-old son was taken by helicopter to Children’s Hospital of the King’s daughters with serious injuries."
This is possibly a camper's worst nightmare. Please keep all those affected in your thoughts.
