Bent the bottom of my ladder

On my last trip had a close encounter with my ladder on the RV.The bottom rung was bent back and cracked .
It is an Atwood Ladder and I have disassembled it and hope I can order the part for the repair.
The very bottom step is just a piece of Alluminum tube bent in a u shape to fit into the ladder above.
Any one ever replace this part without replacing the whole ladder?

I broke my latter off at the bottom i just left it. IT was to low from the Factory it broke off at the next step up its perfect now

Mine needs the bottom u shaped piece to sturdy, as it ties everything together

On one of my previous rigs I took the rig to a weld shop. The only thing you might have to do is redrill the mounting holes if the shop won't do it. Worked great, probably stronger than before.
