Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow countrymen (and countrywomen)!
Today is Canadian Thanksgiving. As I write this, we're doing a 7.5 kg (16.5 lb) Turkey in our propane oil-less deep fryer (it uses infrared heat instead of hot air), and we'll have nine around the table.
Aside from the traditional feast, Canadian Thanksgiving is quite different from the American Thanksgiving. Celebrated the second Monday of October it is a feast to give thanks for a good harvest...nothing more. It's really not very commercialized and there are few crazy sales by any of the big box stores. Basically a reason to take a day off work, have friends and family over, and eat way WAY too much.
All the best,
Chris
