2015 CY3010 Microwave/Vent-a-hood

On our 3010, when you ran the vent-a-hood, you would get a lot of air coming around the end of the microwave (yes, the exterior vent door was unlocked). Enough that your hair would blow. Over the weekend, I pulled the assembly down and, just what I suspected. Not anything between the vent on the RV and the exit openings on the microwave. So I grabbed a tube of hi heat RTV and begin forming a bead around the opening. After it had skinned, I laid another bead beside it, allowed to skin and then laid a 3rd bead on top of the two. Set the MW back on the rear support track and raised it up into position. Securing it with the 2 screws coming down from the cabinet. After allowing it to cure for 4 hours. I did a test run. WOW!
The volume of air coming out of the exterior vent is HUGE now. Wonder if I should crack a window when I turn it on so the trailer doesn't implode? :)

Hi TX Clay,

Thanks for posting your mod to make the vent-a-hood work better. I am sure it will help some others also.
