Remove Carpet on Slide

After having the Prowler for only a year we could no longer stand the carpet on the slide under the table and couch. so t his Weekend we removed the carpet on the slide out in the living room and replaced it with Allure. Except for removing dozens of staples it was a breeze.

Sounds like a nice project but where are the pictures?
Would love to see it.

I saw a unit with vinyl on the slide at the RV show this weekend. Can't recall the brand.

Very nice! Were you able to get the edging material under the slide (wrapped under) or does it end at the lip of the slide out? Did you use some sort of adhesive to hold that outer edging down?

The edging is attached to the outer edge of the slide out. It is attached with acres and finishing washers. Here are pics of the work as we did it.

That looks great. Sure wish we had the option of the type of floor when we purchased our Gateway. I would prefer vinyl over carpet through out the entire RV. I know carpet is warmer and probably more sound absorbing but vinyl is easier to clean.

What are acres?
What is the edging? Something purchased at a big box store or a flooring store?
Looks nice!

I am sorry it was suppose to read screws. The edging is vinyl molding. We bought it at Home Depot. You can either get it in four foot sections or can purchase a roll of 100 feet. They do sell a 20 ft roll, but since it has adhesive on the back we could not use it. It is very soft and putting to wrong side up fills any gap.

Erika,
Do you have any more info on this install by any chance? The wife and I were just talking about this because the kids keep dropping food on the carpet and eventually it will get nasty. I figure I could order vinyl from Heartland.

No, I saw this at an RV show, it was not Heartland product. It was quite crowded, so I couldn't snoop more than the two pics I got.
