Floor Cleaning? - Vinyl

Because our trailer was on the dealers lot, they covered the carpet with vinyl, and taped down the edges. Despite cleaning with everything I could think of, (magic ereaser included) I still have a residue where the tape was. It's no longer sticky, and looks clean after I mop it, but begins collecting yuck again after a day or so. Anyone have any ideas on what I could use without ruining the vinyl? It's right at the edge of the carpet or I'd try WD-40.

You could try wetting a rag with the WD40 and then wiping it off. That would prevent anything getting sprayed on the carpet. Also a rag lightly soaked with mineral spirits would do as well without the WD40 odor.

Thanks Ray. I wasn't sure about the mineral spirits. We do have some because daughters an artist. And of course we always have WD. I just hadn't thought about spraying it on a rag first. Duh... :)
