I would just like to remind everyone that you have about 10 weeks to reserve a site for this rally. Mountaindale is a very popular campground and does fill up most weekends. They will only hold our reserved sites until Jan. 31, 2016. After that time they will be released for public reservations. Please call them and make reservations and then let me know your site number and arrival and departure dates.

Mountaindale called me last night to remind us that Jan. 31 is the deadline for reserving a site for this rally. She said they have requests waiting for our unused reserved sites. They will be releasing them on Febr. 1 for public reservations. If you are thinking of attending this rally and have not reserved a site yet you should do so ASAP. Please let me know when you get your site and your arrival and departure dates.

Thanks, Gregg

Well I didn't realize that the available sites were closing out so soon. I was working on trying to make this rally. I will call tomorrow and see if they have any open.. I have stayed at this park before and it is a great park. However your cell phone and Cell internet probably won't work there. It didn't when I was there last, but they have a great park WiFi..

I'll let you know if I can get a site..

Bob, I know a couple of rigs have been able to sign up since the reservation window was closed. Let's hope they still have a site open but this is a very popular campground here. I can get some Verizon cell service there if I walk up the hill above the campground or over on the road up to the quarry.:)
Good Luck

OK.. I'm in.. I just made a reservation. I am in site #9. Arrive on the 12th and leave on the 19th..

So there.. your stuck with me.. This is an expensive campground... I've been there before sometime ago.. Looking forward to seeing you all..

BTW.. I will get some vegies to dice up and add to the pot for breakfast..
Is it ok if I dice them up now?????

Also.. I just talked to the office. They will reserve a site if you call. They just won't hold sites until just before the rally.. That is unusual... but call and see if they have any openings..

Now that the Buena Vista Rally is in the books . . . I can't wait for this one at Mountaindale!

Wish we could make the Camp Hale and Rifle Gap campouts . . . but our work schedules just don't work!

I may make a day trip up to Camp Hale to say HI!

Maybe I'll bring a tent to spend the night (I think we still have a tent around here somewhere that was probably last used at Camp Hale)!

We will be down at the Royal Gorge over the July 4th. weekend (our next planned outing with the Prowler) if anyone is going to be around . . .

Let us know and maybe we can meet up!

By the by . . . as some may know I was a newspaper photographer in a previous life and now sell cameras for a living.

And I will be giving a photography class at the Mountaindale Rally for those that are interested.

I did one down at the Tucson Rodeo Rally in February 2016 and had over 30 in attendance and everyone said they learned at least one thing they didn't know about their digital cameras.

I covered both point & shoot and DSLR's (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras . . . and will also cover mirrorless cameras as well!

What is a mirrorless camera?

Come to my class and you'll find out . . .

Personally, I have 17 digital cameras . . . six of them interchangable lens cameras and two of them are mirrorless (I was using my two mirrorless cameras at Buena Vista) . . .

Heck . . . I'll even cover cell phone cameras if need be!

Since I sell cameras in my current life I am familiar with most all brands and models and can help you learn what all of those buttons, knobs and dials are all about.

Plus . . . a lot of photo techniques as well.

Let me know here if you are interested and what camera(s) you have, plus any questions you may have as well.

My goal is to at least give you one thing to make your photos better . . .

Here are some random photos of mine just to get you thinking . . .

Looking forward to seeing you all....

Gregg:

Ted & Bette Scott will become new HOC members and will be joining the UT chapter however will live in AZ for the Winter. They are heading back to AZ in a couple of weeks taking a scenic tour! I suggested the COS Rally to them and they would like to attend. I gave him the RV phone number and if he can't get into Mountaindale, he will most likely stay at KOA in the Springs and visit the rally for a few days and then head to Branson, MO for a short trip.
He will let me know where he will be staying and his plans for the COS Rally!

Welcome to Ted & Bette, I have added you to the standby list. The Fountain KOA is not too far away as is Cheyenne Mt. State Park. Cheyenne Mt is closer and very nice but reservations can sometimes be hard to get as it is a very popular place. We look forward to meeting you.

Update:

The Golden Eagle Ranch & RV Park was recommended to me yesterday by a gentleman at the Visitors Center. The 2016 reviews on it at RVpark reviews are good. It is the closest campground to Mountaindale.

I have to echo the sentiments of John and Garry - great rally Gregg and Linda!

This is my second Colorado rally. My first one was in Gunnison many years ago - during the Bob and Marion days. Sadly, I never made it to one of Don and Monica's rallies.

Mountaindale RV Resort and Cabins is a fabulous place. Anyone considering a visit to the area should check this place out. They stay real busy here too - so make reservations well in advance :)

It was super great to meet so many new faces from Colorado and beyond. Now Colorado residents for 2 weeks, Nancy and I really love the Colorado Springs area and hope to stay here for a number of years and explore the area and more of the rest of the state as well as many destinations west.

Sorry to have missed the after-rally meal tonight. Dan and Ann M had trailer trouble on the way home today. Terry H and I rescued them about half way to Penrose. We helped them prepare the RV for a slow ride back to Mountaindale and hope to have repairs (wheel bearing and brake) begin tomorrow. Anyway, we figured they had enough on their minds with repairs to come and a bunch of appointments back home to reschedule, so we took them out to dinner. By the way, Edelweiss Restaurant was very good!

Garry - thanks for the I-10 - non-detour tip. See you and many others in Fort McDowell on Wednesday afternoon.

We enjoyed ourselves greatly - Gregg and Linda put on a wonderful rally.

Things got a little dicey on our departure. As Jim Beletti mentioned, on departure we had a breakdown a few miles from the campground. Many thanks to Jim and Terry Hershberger for coming to our rescue and helping us get back to the campground. And our thanks also to Mountaindale staff who helped us get the repairs done. Hey guys.. Need some info. While at the rally I spoke with Don?? about a DC Vidaair or something that would air up a large tire quickly. I believe it hooked up to the battery. It was small and came in a bag with hose, pressure gauge and such. I had a tire go down on me on the way to Henderson NE. Caught it before it went flat. But my spare was only 95psi and I couldn't get it aired up to 110 with my compressor. It usually would but it is like me getting old. Does anyone know what the compressor was called. I think Don got it on Amazon..

PM me if you would or text me..

Thanks

Does that mean that the 400 has a higher air movement rate than the 450P. Able to inflate a tire more rapidly...
