Jamie, is the pricing and payment info right, $250 is more than a 4 day stay.

Jon,
Their reservation payment is worded weird. It is payment in full, if total is under $250. If your total bill is over, A $250 minimum payment is required. Does that make more sense?

One of our biggest delays with securing this campground was pricing. This is a very busy, large campground. Trying to secure that many very large, shaded, full hookup premium sites was difficult. They were reluctant to negotiate with the price for the weekend. But the weekday pricing, they came down quite nicely. They fill to maximum nearly every weekend.

Yeah. A lot of open space. I am waiting to be able to show the girls the mountains while you drive. Especially when they have snow on them. Going west has some great scenery. Like seeing the Archway across I-80 or the Grand Canyon

Is there a difference in the regional rallies and the chapter rallies?

Is there a difference in the regional rallies and the chapter rallies?

The regional rally is similar to a state rally but on a larger scale. Generally more activities, sometimes a few venders, sometimes show coaches, generally 4 days, entertainment, maybe a few destination restaurants and site seeing.
But always 2 things....Heartlanders and FOOD!!

JWalker

We have to turn the group sites back in on 6/25/16. But you can still make reservations after that. It just might be outside the core area.

We we would love to have you and your "Lil Guy"

Ok, need some opinions. We are planning to include a trip to the "Famous" Shady Maple Smorgasbord as part of the rally activities. It's only a few short miles from Spring Gulch.

Just wanted to see what people preferred.....a Breakfast, a Lunch or Dinner??

Ginger and I have never been there before but the response was amazing when we mentioned it at the Copake rally.

Well, things are slowly starting to move along with the rally. It seems like everything RV related hibernates in the Northeast over the winter months. Ginger and I are heading to Lancaster on Saturday to take care of some of the agenda items. A few questions??

-Anyone interested in golf cart rentals? This is a large campground, covering a lot of area. The campground is in 2 sections. Our sites are located in the top plateau. Some of the activities will be in the bottom section. There is plenty of parking at each location but some might choose to rent a golf cart to travel back-and-forth. The campground does not rent golf carts but there is a location nearby that will bring rentals in if requested.

-What are your thoughts on leaving the campground to do a group activities? We are looking at doing a trainride at the Strasburg railroad. A 45 minute tour of the Lancaster countryside with a possible catered lunch included. It is about a 25 minute trip from the campground.

-We're also going to visit Shady Maples, just a 4 mile trip from the campground, but I'm sure everybody will love that. Looking at a breakfast or lunch for that event.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Bones

How much for the golf carts. That would really drive my decision on that. We are in for a train ride.

I just looked at the menu for the Shady Maple and they have breakfast food which the girls like so we would be in for breakfast.

This is getting better and better. You know I had a guy when I was backing up at a park that didn't trust what My wife was saying. He insisted that she didn't know how to help me back up and when she told me I was level He insisted that I get out and double check. She was steaming. You could see the smoke rolling off. :)

'Lil Guy'
01-14-2016, 03:33 PM
If the sites are long enough, maybe I'll just pull in and leave it on the truck. BTW, my wife backs it in now and I direct. It's still a show to behold. Make sure you ask me about the gutters on the garage while she was directing. I'll never forget the statement, "you didn't tell me to look up". My instructions were to get me close to the garage while she stood behind the rig. We have about a 2 1/2 foot overhang on the roof. I think the neighbors called the police on us over the language and yelling.
Looking forward to meeting everyone up that way.

I drink them, Debbie throws them. Anyway, that only happens right after we back in. It kind of goes with the arm flailing hand signals and yelling upon arrival. Our ability to park our rig is a sight to behold and worth the price of admission. People have been known to travel hundreds of miles just to witness the 'Lil Guys' arrival. This is part of the reason we're taking the 'LG' on tour to let other Heartlanders witness this phenomenon. And you think you hate us now.....

So much for a big Amish turnout. I wanted to see some of the rigs being towed in by horses. On a serious note, it sounds like a great rally and a bunch of fun loving people. Debbie and I can't wait to meet everyone up that way. Hopefully, some of you can give us some time as to what to see and do up that way. We've got some time on our hands between this rally and the one in NY..
I haven't officially retired but our house just went on the market and as soon as it sells, we're off. Great milestone in our life and we're really excited about this new endeavor.
Later and have a great day.

It's going to be tough for me to squeeze a round in. We are starting to plan a good bit of activities throughout the rally.

There is a working dairy farm nearby that you can tour and then make homemade ice cream. I'm trying to get something arranged there.

The trailer only has 2 types of outdoor lights. Under each step is a single light that hardly illuminates anything. Or.....a "brighter than the sun" LED strip under the awning. Just wanted a little more for when people are around the trailer at night.

Yeah that led strip under the awning very seldom seen gets used, need your sunglasses when that's on.....
I replaced the under step light with a short blue 12v LED strip and have a set of rope lights mounted under the rig on each side of the frame that direct their light downward. Need 120v for them though.
