I've used the RAM CAM 3 times.
I would not recommend as a back up camera.
It tends to freeze,so if you must go slow and pause every foot or so and wait for the camera to catch up ,if not you could hit something.
It doesnt matter if the camera is used in the pickup bed viewing the hitch or 60' away.

I tried the wifi backup camera from Rearview Safety with mixed results. The signal was a little weak with the slides out and there was no signal with the slides in. I bought a wifi extender that sits on the steps to the bedroom and now the signal is good to the tow vehicle. I do lose connection occasionally but in general the system seems to work acceptably well. Having the picture on my iPad means a very nice, large image.
