***UPDATE*** We have just confirmed that the dates to the Rally will officially be changed from September 6-13, 2017 to the following week which is September 13 to the 20th, 2016. There were some scheduling conflicts that occurred with the park in which they were unable to accommodate our needs for the catered meals and events like we had planned and talked about on that original Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The only solution was to change the dates, so the new dates are going to be the following week so update your calendars!!

Okay all, I am looking for some feedback. We are trying to stay within a budget and want to know what is important to people. Here are the things we are considering. Please let us know which of these items are important to you for the Region Rally.

  1. Friday night catered BBQ Dinner with all the fixings
  2. Saturday night catered dinner at the casino banquet hall
  3. No host (availability to purchase beer, wine or mixed drinks) bar at the Saturday night catered dinner
  4. Sunday morning catered breakfast at the casino
  5. Wine Tasting tour (hire a shuttle or shuttles to take the Umpqua Valley wine circuit tour)
  6. Rally T-Shirts (provided at no cost)
  7. Rally badge pins (the pins that hang on your name tags that list the rally)
  8. No cost Raffle gifts
  9. Indian Drumming ceremony
  10. Classes put on by vendors/dealerships
  11. Golf outing(s)
  12. Ice Cream Social
  13. Beer, Soda, Water, Chips and Snacks provided
  14. K-9 Demonstration by local law enforcement
  15. Tickets at no or reduced cost to casino entertainment (concert, comedian, magician etc...)

Also, would you consider or be offended and put off by having some cost sharing expenses? I am considering charging $25.00 per person in order to help provide a great rally and stay within our budget. This is a big one that I really want some feedback on, so please chime in.

Thanks Bruce! I was thinking that it was reasonable, but at the same time, I don't want people to not come because of it.
Rod, all look good to me and I don't think the $25 is out of line.

Thanks Paul and Candy. I am hoping this is going to be an EPIC Rally and sets the stage for future rallies to come!
Rod -
A very good list of events and I think $25.00 is very reasonable.

The one thing I would like to know from everyone is what on the list is the most important to them. That way if I get some people that do not want to pay the $25.00 per person, I can gauge what things to consider scaling back on.

Rod To Answer your question. If we can some how make it up there.
Options we like would be
#1
#2
#3
#5
#7 for Rhonda LOL
#10
#12
and $25 is no big deal and it will make the rally that much better for all to enjoy.

Hi Rod--

Great list of suggested activities!! The only ones that do not appeal to us are # 4 and 11. No objections from us on the $25 fee. Looking forward to a really great time.

Art and Teresa, that is awesome and we look forward to having you guys at the rally! We will put you down for the list of attendees. I will be posting more details as they come available and will put a form on the 1st post within a couple months to have everyone fill out and send in to us. Until then, feel free to let me know what you guys like or dislike on the planning stages and ideas.

Rod

Please sign us up.

Hi,
Whatever you decide is fine and you know we will help however we can. I'm kind of excited about #9. We don't really care about golf or the shows unless they have someone REALLY good. I might suggest muffins etc. Sun. AM rather than another trip over to the casino, but it is up to you. You know how I feel about early mornings.... lol

$25 per person for what you have described is perfectly reasonable. We can talk about chapter stuff and how that could work too.

Sally and I are willing to contribute to help with the expenses. Personally, I would like the Indian drumming ceremony, but I might be the minority on this one.

Thanks Morris! You are not a minority as so far I have two people that are interested in that besides you, Sally, Kelly and I. I was expecting more opposition to the $25.00 per head than this. I am kind of surprised by that. I figured most would not want that, so therefore I would have to scale back my plans.

I want to give a shout out to all in the region who have responded to this rally thread and those who have read all the posts in the thread. I am so encouraged over the support you have given Rod and Kelly on a small cost-sharing element of the rally.

Region Directors work hard at planning their rallies in an effort to present attendees with a lot of opportunity to have a great time. In the past, Heartland RVs has funded Region Rallies in their entirety. As Region Directors want to do even more, to make the event even more special, costs to increase. As I have a limited budget, Region Directors are experimenting with spending a small amount above their budget to do what it is, they want to do for attendees.

I applaud Rod and Kelly for being the first to experiment with the notion of a very small cost-sharing element and I applaud those who've responded in the affirmative that "it's no big deal". Heartlanders are THE BEST!

See you at the rally!

Hi Rod, Would like to weigh-in with our thoughts and priorities on your list of activities for the Regional. I'll list our priorities in descending order - most important to least:

1. Classes put on by vendors/dealerships (also possible "classes" by experienced modifiers/road warriors like Jim Beletti, Paul, Mark C., you, etc.)
2. T-shirts
3. Badge hangers
4. Saturday dinner (either at Casino or catered...also a no-host bar available if at the Casino)
5. Wine tour - really like the idea of hiring a shuttle! LOTS of GREAT wineries around Roseburg!!!!
6. Chips/snacks, waters, sodas, beer (and maybe wine) supplied by HOC
7. no-cost raffle gifts
8. Drumming ceremony
9. K-9 demo
10. Ice cream social
11. Golf outing (really feel that this should be arranged and paid for by those interested)
12. Breakfast at Casino (would rather not have to go back to casino - would prefer a scaled down breakfast - i.e. Continental at the park if possible)
13. No cost or reduced cost concert tickets - feel it would be very unlikely we would be interested.

We would be very willing to contribute $$.

We would also suggest that allowing folks to "participate" via a potluck meet-n-greet, dessert potluck, contributing to the raffle or holding a separate raffle with proceeds going to a specified charity, would inspire people to be more engaged in the activities.

A really fun activity that we did at the Jackson CA Rally in 2014 was a "show off your rig/mods/open house" poker run. People gathered cards a various rigs and a prize was given to the best poker hand. Just a suggestion.

Rod and Kelly, be sure to let us know how we can help!

And THANKS for all the work and forethought you are putting into this event!!! It will be TERRIFIC!
