Install Digital Thermostat & Wiring

Has anyone changed their mechanical t/stat out for a new digital heating and AC one? If so would you have the wiring diagram please. Also did you notice any difference in the temperature variation.

Ground (green ) to RC & RH terminals -threw jumper wire
Fan & HI speed ( tan & blue ) to G terminal
A/C cool (yellow ) to Y terminal
Heat ( white ) to W terminal
Red wire not used-tape off

Well worth the $20.00 or so to change out , best upgrade for the bucks in my opinon. Search --Hunter Thermostats - all kinds of reading.....Ken

I did it a couple of years ago and it works wonderfully.

Make sure on the new Digital Stat, that you switch it from HE to HG mode ( usually a lil switch on the back.. )

What the switch does:
HE -> Heat: Electric => Thermostat controls the fan in heat mode
HG -> Heat: Gas => Thermostat only controls the heat signal.. the Furnace controls the fan.

This is required since there is no fan control for Gas / Propane furnaces used in our coaches.

I've had mine on digial since the 1st week I had the RV ( Mid December ). LOVE IT!

Put a Hunter digital in mine as soon as I got it home. Found the info and diagrams through this forum and it works great. You will not regret going to digital.

This what I used to wire my Big Horn.



If you don't use the switch for low fan speed. wire the 2 wire together and it will run on high fan only.
