The burner stays on correctly for a few minutes then turns to a yellow flame dome configuration with less heat ???

Hi Brubon,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. There's lots of useful information here along with a great bunch of friendly and helpful people.

I think a yellow flame might be due to too little air in the mixture. Lift the cooktop and see if there's anything amiss.

Also, as a general rule with all your propane devices, it's always a good idea to check the propane tanks to make sure you're not running out.

Have you looked at flame on other LP devices?
If they are burning yellow as well the the usual suspect would be the regulator. Faulty or needs adjustment.
If only on the stove burners and if you have a fuel/air adjustment you will want to look for a little collar on the burner feed tube. If you do have that collar it will be secured by a small screw.
Yellow flame means too much air so if you have that adjuster you will want to close it down a little bit till the flame burns blue.

Peace
Dave
