Are you up for a beautiful, high altitude dry-camping experience? Includes relaxation, fishing, hiking, biking and 4-wheeling fun.
Come any time in the date range. The closer to the indicated dates the harder it will be to get a weekend reservation; campground is pretty empty during the week.
There are 21 sites listed but one is the camp host (site 5). No water is available, and there are two vault toilet bldgs found within the campground. Most sites are treed, all are back-in. Generators are allowed 24/7 and recommended. Nights can get a bit chilly (mid-upper 40s)
Lengths listed in the website have not been updated, they are longer than what is listed; all are long/large enough for both rig and tow vehicle.
Recommended sites for 5th wheels plus tow vehicle: 3,4,8,11,14,16,17,18 &20 all other sites would be good for TT plus tow vehicle.
In 2015 we had 5th wheels in sites 20, 18, 17, 16, 14, & 8 and TT in sites 10 & 15. Everyone had an enjoyable time both at Camp Hale and the surrounding towns. Nightly camp fires, daily fishing excursions and lounging outside were the norm.
If you have any questions about the campground and sites please contact me.

Attendees:
Monica/Don July 21(arrival)-July 28 (departure) site #14
Steve/Susan 6/28-31 Site 16
Dave/Sue 6/28-31. Site 12

Well darn! We'll be at Cherry Creek SP that week visiting our granddaughter who'll be celebrating her first birthday.

We used to go to Camp Hale years ago in our tenting days and with our old 1978 Coachman TT.

Camp Hale is awesome!

We probably won't make it to this one . . . but maybe next year if it is done again there!

Took this shot at Camp Hale back in the 90's in the film days.

We arrive on the 28th and depart the 31st. Fishing gear will definitely be on board. My two sons should be with us as well.

Monday April 11, 2016: Just checked availability for July 21 for 7 nights...so this time frame will include the weekend of July 23 & 24...there are 8 sites available. But of those 8 sites only 4 can accommodate a large 5th wheel...the others would be for a TT.
Just an FYI for those of you "thinking about" joining in on the camp-out:)

We hope everyone has a great time this weekend. Wish we could be there but we have a family reunion in NE. The temps there are expected to be around 100 and humid. You will have MUCH nicer weather. ;) Have fun!

Sorry folks but we have to back-out of this trip. We will have our 16 mo old grandbaby boy twins with us and our daughter wants to stay at a closer campground. We will see you at Mountaindale later this year.

Sooooooo . . . how did the campout at Camp Hale go?

I really wanted to make this, but too many life thingies got in the way.

We used to go to Camp Hale a lot back in our early days of camping and haven't been there in about 10 years.

Can't wait to see everyone at Mountaindale!
