Hello Everyone, being new to the forum I was looking for some thoughts on this matchup. We just purched the 3500RL and was wondering what your feelings were about this truck (3500 DRW, 5 speed auto TD). Having been in a 37' MH for the last four years I don't think we will load to the max. I think we should be around 13800 to 14100. I appreciate your comments. Thanks Bill

Bill, We have the 3500 and 3400RL and have no problems with either the weight police or pulling issues. We are a bit over the trailers GVW of 14000 but the axles are under at 11,500 and the extra weight is on the pin/truck. The last time I weighed the trailer we were at 14,400.

Thanks Ray,
It's been a while since we pulled a 5th wheel and that was a 30ft FLR non slide. We pulled that with a 95 chevy. This time we picked the unit first and the truck second. I was not sure about weather to go SRW or DRW. I guess stability overrulled ease of parking.

WE also have a Chevy 350 DRW and a BH 3400RL, they work together like a dream.

Good Luck and enjoy the road in your new rig.
