Bighorn - LP Detector

It appears our 2011 Big Horn does NOT have a propane detector in the kitchen area or anywhere nearby. Is that possible or legal?

Hi GladGal,

Grab a flashlight and look around the living room walls and on the rear wall of the RV. On our Landmark, which is similar to a BH 3610RE, the Propane Detector is on the rear wall, mounted close to the floor.

Mine was mounted on the back wall. Crazy place for a propane leak detector in my opinion.

On my Big Horn the detector is in slide out behind dinning table by front door. If you want can buy a portable one, some think better, and put where you want? Good Luck. Dave

OK now the question: Why would they put the propane leak detector on the rear wall when the main source of a leak is in the kitchen area?

With most layouts, there's nowhere else to put it close to the floor.
