Why do people ...

Wife and I are sitting in a pretty nice campground enjoying the weekend. We have noticed that in camp grounds with full hookups that people use the bathroom and showers at the campground. Why is this?

Part of the reason we got our trailer was to have our OWN bathroom that we know is clean and working. During trips before we got it stops at gas stations or truck stops were always a guessing game as to how clean or not so clean the facilities were.

I understand it if you are boondocking or even just do not have a sewar hookup (one of our favorite places to go is EW with a dump as you pull out).

Just wondering, not looking to judge anyone for thier reasons.

1. Bathroom is busy and I can't wait.
2. I need a break from that little shower and want some room to move around.
3. I just need a really long, hot shower and they have more hot water than I.
4. Because it is there.

I NEVER use restrooms at truck stops if I have the trailer.

Had a friend who pass away that did that. Asked him why and he said all of his fishing gear is stored in the shower. He had a lot of fishing gear.

For us it depends on the condition of the bath house. But most times we use our camper bathroom.

Yep. Commented many times from the tiny TT to the 500K motor coach . We haven't used a public washroom since owning the BH. We'll use the BR if we're out for a walk and it's conveniently there. Sometimes I'll use it just to check the condition of said facility . Otherwise we use our own onboard facilities.

I used the CG facility when we had the TT and were parked near it. Must admit, the management keeps them in excellent shape. But since getting the BH and parked a hike from them, we use our own (on full hookup). One of the reasons we went to the BH. Having stayed at state parks with the pop-up and TT, the facilities there were nasty if you came in 10 minutes after the cleaning crew. Amazing what pigs some people and their little urchins can be.

Never use the camp ground or any public facilities.....that is the reason I purchased my previous North Trail and now the Sundance!
They are nasty places from what I have observed.

I'm with you on that note. Some people have started they want to keep the tank clean? Me on the other hand I can keep my tanks clean as well as the shower and the floors. I add a concentrated boat wash and about five minutes of water from the faucet. Then when I hook up and drive where ever down the road I dump again. Clean tank

I will use the showers if we happen to be set up near the bath house and the showers are spacious and immaculate. Often in the morning we are both competing for the bathroom so it is easy for me to just run across the street. I like the space and often the water pressure is a lot better than in my rig. Three bath house showers that meet my standards come to mind as outstanding. Choctaw Casino KOA, Durant, OK; Windstar Casino RV resort, Thackerville, OK; Sundance RV park, Cortez, CO. There have been many others, but these three really standout.

Agree with Mike. We stay at a few Thousand Trails resorts. Most have very clean restrooms and I will use if our site is nearby. In the past, we've stayed a week or longer at a few parks (state, county, etc.) without sewer hookups and, if restrooms are clean, will use to conserve onboard resources.

Please allow me to be politically incorrect for a moment. The answer is very simple, every stinking time I gotta POOP she's doing it. Just being honest!

I don't have a preference, but I bet you will notice that many large men use the CG facilities. I use both my rig's facility, and the GC facility without prejudice. As a large man, I enjoy extra room and the sometimes available water pressure. As far a cleanliness, I have never run into a GC facility that was "not acceptable."

If we are going somewhere and time is a factor I'll run to the CG shower house if it is nice. If not we'll be late.
