For anyone want to do a little "pre Michigan" rally, information about the Ohio Rally (the preceding week) is now available at the link.

Jerry, wanted to let you know that we have signed up for the Michigan Rally. The lady I talked to didn't give me a site # yet. She wanted to make sure of the number coming so we didn't get moved around. See you then.

Saundra and I are in TC for a couple of days. We drove over to the campground and I was planning to make a reservation. However, I changed my mind for three reasons
1. Campground needs a 2 day deposit for making a reservation - $104 ($52 x 2)
2. Campground will take a $15 charge for canceling a reservation from today up to 15 days before the reservation begins - they will take the entire amount if the cancellation is made within the 15 day period prior to the date the reservation starts - $104 is a pretty steep penalty.
3. Campground is holding a block of lots until 6/19/17.

So, rather than taking a chance on health causing a cancellation, or equipment failure (God forbid), I will wait until next June before making our reservation.

BTW - cabins are available for $119/night, if anyone is interested in this option - at least that is today's price. Not sure if this is an off-season rate.

I understand Chuck. Unfortunately in busy areas like TC they seem to have higher deposit and cancellation fees. Keep an eye on the attendance.

Just like buying a lottery ticket, pay your money and take your chances.
We spent 10 days there last July, & loved it.
Stayed over at Indigo Blue RV park a couple of times near Glen Arbor.
For those who have not been to this area here are a few ideas you can check out.
There are a lot of Wineries in this area & also M22, the most scenic Highway in America.
Get over to Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Boone's Restaurant is another favorite.
Fishtown in Leland is also a great place to visit.
We did a lot of these when we had the Rally at Wild Cherry Resort a few years back.

I agree Gary. I have been to all you mentioned and others. The M-22 drive and little towns along the way are well worth the visit. There is also Mission Peninsula with more wineries and beautiful views of the bays. And Boons for a steak is a great idea for a pre-rally meal. a little pricy but oh so worth it.

Darn! This would have been a great first Heartland rally! Unfortunately we will be in southern Illinois for the solar eclipse.

Sorry you can't make it Alan and Barb. Check out the other rallies in the midwest and see if one of them works for you.

We are looking forward to seeing you too!

FYI my daughter and son-in-law bought a Heartland trailer. He's joined the owners forum and paid his membership fee. They are planning on coming to this rally too. Watch for Matt and Jill Stimpson to post their attendance.

Any plans for a spring camp out? (((GRIN)))
