Dish cable in park, want DVR receiver to record.

I'm in a RV park with Dish cable that hooks directly to my TV. That works good but I can't record programs because their is no "cable box". Anyone know how I can buy a box with a DVR so I can record the programs when not at home. The cable is free here so going with Direct or Dish by satellite is not an option. Don't want to pay 120.00 a month and a 2 year contract to these companies. Hope I have explained my problem and thanks in advance for any help. Rick

I just bought a DVR from Direct. Don't know if it will work off of cable or not. $200 was cheaper than leasing it.

Go to WalMart and buy a DVR, they are less than $50.

At Wal-Mart we got a DVD DVR combo box that we used a home for years. It is a Magnavox or Panasonic and will work with either cable or satalite. I put it just befor the TV and it would record what was needed.

Are they universally compatible with any cable/Direct TV....?
