Leak from Living Room Slide

We have a 2007 Big Horn 2955RL 5th wheel. We love the layout and the many "extras" but we are very frustrated with quality issues. The latest two items happened while we were on vacation. The issue related to this forum section is a leaky slide.

We have never had water problems before, but after driving through a storm that produced significant rainfall, we opened up the slides and found that our carpet was very wet in front of the table and recliner. We dried it out but then after our next leg of the trip opened up the slide to find wet carpet again.

We took the RV to the dealer today, and we are confident they can find a way to fix it. Has anyone else had this problem? Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that the dealer was out of high end RVs today, we would have traded it in for a different manufacturer.

Lots of other folks (including other brands) have had this problem. Do a search for D seals and corner blocks. That should give you a good start.

Thanks. When you think about it, if you hooked up your house and towed it on bumpy roads, something would be likely to shake loose!

If I can remember, I'll post the solution after our dealer fixes it. We drive 55 miles to take the RV to a place where we have faith in the guys in the shop. They haven't let us down yet.

Our friends 07 2925 was missing this extra bulb/wiper seal underneath the slide. He added it himself and solved the problem completely....call Heartland, they will provide you with the seal.
