Need feedback on choice of towing rig

I am new at this so I apologize if I am not putting this question in the right spot. We have a 2012 Trail Runner 27fqbs, had a 2007 F150 that had a hard time pulling it up the mountains. Just recently traded that in on a 2003 Ford Excursion with the V10. Any thoughts on that as a tow vehicle?
