Water pressure

I just purchased a Mallard M32 and went camping this past weekend and my water pump was working the first day. Was running unit off of 30amp shore power . The next day only air coming out with spurts of water. Had to hook it up to city water connection to get running water. After leaving we stopped to store and water pump is working fine. Thinking battery was loesince it's working with truck plugged up, but shouldn't being plugged to to shore power keep the battery charged

Hi Fastchevy87,

When plugged into shore power, the Power Converter keeps the battery charged and also supplies power to the 12V devices through the fuse box. If the battery was depleted, that suggests that it wasn't getting power from the Power Converter. Often this is caused by a tripped 12V DC Mini-Circuit Breaker near the battery. But since you were plugged into shore power, the Power Converter should have supplied power to the pump. So the problem is less likely to involve that manual reset breaker.

You need to make sure the Power Converter is working. It plugs into a dedicated outlet and every once in a while the plug fits loosely and vibrates out of the outlet. It's also possible to blow the on-board fuses on the Power Converter. Usually this will happen because someone installs the battery backward. They figure out their mistake, but the blown fuses keep the converter from working, so after a few days the battery is depleted.

If you have a voltmeter, you can check the voltage at the battery or at the row of mini-circuit breakers near the battery. When disconnected from the truck, but plugged into shore power, the reading should be between 13.2 and 13.6V DC. When shore power is disconnected and truck is disconnected, the battery should read around 12.6V DC.
