By default the fridge will run on 110v when 110v is available otherwise it will run on LP when 110 is not available. The auto feature really is nice if you want to "set it and forget it".

Good luck,

ddfarms, Mark is right on. If you aren't plugged into 110, the fridge panel will display both lights auto and gas. This means the fridge is set to go to elec as soon as you hook up to 110. If the auto light is not lit, it will stay on gas regardless, weather you're plugged in or not. If you're running on 12 volts only, be sure you have the ambient temp and climate control switches off. these are located in the freezer compartment in the door opening at the top. Find you're Dometic Fridge book. Hopefully you received it. It explains all you'll need to know. Hope this helps a bit.

A little tip. If you are doing some boon docking and want to run it on gas I would take it off auto and set it to run on gas only. If not when you run an inverter or a generator it will automatically change to 110v. Not good if you are running the inverter. A real battery killer. Also when changing propane tanks you might want to turn on the stove for a moment to get the air out of the lines. Other wise you may get a fault on the fridge when it wont light. Sometimes it will take a few extra starts to keep the fridge going.
