Bolt protruding from floor

I have a 6" bolt protruding from the middle of my floor near the kitchen sink. I tried to screw it back down, but it wouldn't hold. The floor is now squeeking when I walk on it. I think it may be just a way to secure a floating floor but am nervous it was holding something like duct work underneath. Anyone have this happen to them?
