Toilet valve noise

Does everybody's toilet make a loud noise as the water valve closes when flushing? When you step on the pedal then release it t makes a loud thud as the valve closes. Very annoying in the middle of the night.

The loud thud is a good thing..........no thud could be the valve is not closing properly. Keep your foot on the foot pedal...........don't let the valve slam shut.
Close valve with no water in bowl, spray WD-40 or silicone spray on valve, let set a few minutes then cycle valve several times.......may work smoother without loud thud.

Many people don't know you can pick up on the pedal to put water in the bowl. It took us several weeks to figure that out. Then you can use that water to help rinse the bowl or moisten toilet paper if needed. If you don't have the sprayer it will help rinse any "skid" marks too.
