Hi retiredk,

Water can travel all kinds of directions once it gets in, but it always eventually heads downward. Carefully check sealant and caulking on the roof, at vents, at lights. If the lights are in a slide, check all the seams and make sure the top slants slightly to allow water runoff.

I'll bet the lights were in the slides. The slide roof is not sealed where it joins the inside fascia. Seal this with roof sealant. Could have had some leaves or branches under rubber seals allowing water to get to this gap.

Well for what its worth, I called mobile repair service, he and I started at living room AC. sure enough the second lag bolt (holds AC to roof) was not sealed correctly, so we took all four out, put in new seals, new dicor caulk, tighten it all back down, no more leaking, no more water in lights.... hope this helps others
