Confused - What size converter?

I've got the MPG 183 and the existing converter is shot, the capacitors are blown out.
I'm trying to figure out what size replacement I need and I'm a bit confused. The one that's in there now is a 55 amp. But the camper is only has a 30 amp connection.
Can I use a 35 amp converter or do I need the 55 amp?

Hi Tom, welcome to an awesome forum. A great place to gather information.

I think you are confusing AC current and DC current.
AC is the 120 volts, max 30 amps, that you plug your camper into at the pedestal.
DC is the 12 volt system that your battery uses to supply power to the 12 volt items such as your lighting.

So if your converter is 55 amp DC then that is what you will want to replace it with.

Thanks, Dave! I figured as much, just wanted to make sure.
I just bought this camper last week and I'm fixing it up. I'm hoping to have it all done and ready for this weekend!
I've gone and made reservations already...I may be cutting it close but I'm optimistic!
