Just added indoor outdoor carpeting and a pad from home depot to garage. We intend to use garage for dining/spare bedroom/hobby area/ etc. but not for big toys. Rug will work better for bare feet and add a layer of insulation.

We like smaller table when just two of us because it allows for easier pass through access to deck.

so far...

though still in the early stages (1 month of outfitting but not traveling) of getting use to and learning about the 4005. So far everything has worked as expected but several items had us stumped for a bit. 1) only bedroom thermostat controls furnace although living area stat shows furnace. 2) push button lights in bunk are also controlled by switch in main panel. 3) on line literature did not list correctly that 4005 has 2 grey and 2 black water tanks. 4)door side water connector has 'hidden' shutoff under garage sink.

Only 'worry' is occasional water dripping from underbelly slit where water drains protrude. We are hoping it is trapped water escaping from 700 mile delivery trip in pouring rain.

Minor modifications:

*took advice from this forum and flipped the door under tv so it opens down instead of up.
*added single piston to cabinet door over fridge so it will stay open when accessing it ($11 for 4 pistons on Amazon - only needed one for door)
*installed padding and tan indoor outdoor carpet (homedepot) to garage floor for comfort and insulation.
*installed shelf in each upper bedside cabinet. Cabinet is so high and deep that we didn't want to just make one big pile.
*put hooks for wet towels at each end of shower.
*ours must have been early unit because main tv bracket was fixed so added swivel and tilt bracket for less than $30.

Always enjoy hearing what others have done.

Although some rigs have 2 or 3 A/C units, each with its own thermostat, only 1 thermostat is connected to the 1 furnace. If the dealer doesn't explain which thermostat controls the furnace, I can see where you'd have to guess and it might not occur to try all the thermostats.

Which piston did you get off Amazon? That's a great idea for the door over the fridge my wife hates it on a ladder holding it open with her head.

Did yours not come with a fitted carpet for the garage?

Our unit had been cannibalized by the dealer for some reason and the carpet was gone along with the bedroom and garage tv. The dealer deducted $$$ from the price to compensate and we were satisfied.

Does the original equipment carpet fit right up to the kitchen door and did it have holes for the table legs?? I ended up with an 8x12 piece remnant that I put snug to the kitchen wall and it leaves a little less than a foot uncovered at the 3 season door ( cost was less than $100). The pad and carpet are thick enough so we do not feel the tie downs or the diamond knobs.
