Hands On: 20 minutes
Total: 45 minutes
Makes: 1 individual meal

Ingredients
1 Aluminum pouch
1/4 pound of hamburger or more
1 large carrot chopped or more
1 large potato chopped or more
1 small onion sliced or more
Any herb or spice or powdered soup, ketchup,
BBQ sauce you have laying around.


Directions

1. Prepare grill or campfire.
2. Make ground beef into a patty. Put chopped onions, carrot, and remaining ingredients in medium bowl. (Here's where you throw your stuff too)
3. Put mixture into an aluminum foil pouch.
4. Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until done.

The time is going to be dependent on the amount of food in the pouch and how hot your fire or grill is.

Lefty, sounds a like like the hobos that we made in the scouts. If using coals from a campfire, we have found that putting an onion slice on the top and the bottom of the concoction keeps the rest from getting too burnt.

Great eating, and so simple to make.

Probably the same thing. It was in the old Scout manual from the 60's.

It was a staple for one meal on every trip.
