Hi, I am a first-time user here, so forgive me if I am not following protocol. We have a '04 Dodge 2500 HD, quad cab, short box, 5.9L, Cumins Turbo diesel 600 HO, 3.73 gears, 4 speed automatic. We want to buy a Big Country 3355RL, which has a dry weight of 11,150 lbs. and a hitch weight of 2,100 lbs. We have been researching whether or not our truck can pull this trailer. Info has ranged from Dodge's website, saying we could only pull 10,000 lbs. to Trailer Life's chart saying we could pull 13,050 lbs. Does anybody have the correct answer? We really want that trailer! Thanks. Jan

E-mail dodge

if your dealer can not tell you, e-mail dodge manufacturing. Give them your vin number(vehicle indentification number) and ask for your
-max. combined weight rates - they can tell you EXACTLY what your truck can pull

Jan,

You will probably find that the 10,000 lbs refers to a bumper hitch trailer vs 13050 lbs refers to a 5th wheel.

Forrest is right and your combined GVW is 20,00 lbs.
ps. That truck can pull a bit more without issue b ut air bags would make it nicer

I have the 2004 towing specs and this is what it says: I'm assuming you have a 4X4 SLT or Laramie. If you have an ST the numbers are slightly higher.

GVWR = 9,000 lbs
Payload + 2,220 lbs
Base Curb Wt. = 6,775 lbs
GAWR Front = 5,200 lbs Rear = 6,000 lbs
GCWR = 20,000 lbs
Max. Trailer Wt. = 13,050 lbs

Hope this helps..../Doug
