Adding an AM/FM Antenna to the roof - Advice requested

I have a 2008 FW-Sundance. Looking to add a AM/FM/Weather Radio to the cabinet shelve were the Slide-Outs & Controls are located. The RV doesn't have an existing (AM/FM) Antenna so I'm looking to add a roof mount type of antenna right above the cabinet where the radio will be place. I'm very worry in just "willy-nilly" drilling a good size hole in the roof. The last thing I want not to do is making a common stupid mistake "been there, done that" without some good advice, guidance or recommendations.

Looking at this particular antenna mention in the forum, Metra 44-US01R (14") Top Mount Rubber Antenna.

Thanks you in advance for your help!

Byron, in Tucson, AZ.

Update:
I also found a Top Mount, stainless steel, 31in (79cm) 1-section mast with spring, PN Metra 44-US71

Byron,

I suggest you use some butyl tape under the antenna base, then some Dicor lap sealant around the edge of the base and over the screws.
