Plastic toilet mod

Well the factory installed a Dometic 300 plastic toilet. It has a back set of 8.75 inches. They installed it at 9 inches. But all other better toilets like the porcelain toilets like the 310 or 320 have a bigger offset 11 or 11.5 inches.

The 300 is all plastic and when you sit on it it squeeks and creaks and moans. And the 300 has a screwy toilet seat mount. The 300 toilet seat has a molding seam inside and it digs in your skin when you are there longer than a minute.

I installed a $5 wood seat from home Depot and 4 bumpers.

I flipped the wood seat hinges and cut the plastic hinge pin off.

I drilled and threaded the wood seats hinges and evenly spaced the bigger rubber bumpers.whola much quieter and lots more comfortable.

Wife wanted a sprayer but the 300 does not have that option. I was able to buy a kit from camping world by dometic to add the sprayer.

I still want a nicer porcelain toilet so if anyone know of one with a 9 inch setback let me know.

You would need to oblong the hole in the floor but an offset toilet flange would get you the needed clearance
for a better toilet. You can get the offset flange at HD or Lowes.
