LP regulator whine?

When something like the furnace draws a lot of gas does you LP regulator make noise? Mine whines - sound kind of like a bearing going bad. When my Furnace came on I thought the fan was broken... until I traced the noise to the LP gas. I could live with it except it's louder inside the bedroom than it is outside by the gas compartment

Is this defective? I'm going to try to get it swapped out under warranty but it would be good if I knew what was wrong with it.

I had the same problem on my last camper.The regulator ended up being bad and I had to replace it.

Sometimes if there is moisture in the propane, from a tank not being properly purged when it was new, this can cause the regulator to "whine". Other than the fact that it is annoying, it is usually not a safety issue. Have you tried closing off one tank and switching to the other tank? Sometimes this will alleviate the problem. Before I condemned the regulator, I would run both tanks empty and have them refilled and try it again.
