Hitch Handle Mod - Rescue Tape to the Rescue

It's great going to rallies with people smarter than you

Dave (Cookie) has the same Curt Q5 hitch as I do. And he asked me the same question I have asked other Q5 owners. "Does your hand get all black when you grab the rubber handle"? Yep - sure does.

Dave told me he had a fix for it. I was expecting him to have a replacement handle cover made from a different compound. Well, he sort of did. He told me he wrapped his with black Rescue Tape. Cool!

So he came over to my truck and rescued my hands from getting black every time I pull that handle. Anytime I am up inside the bed and brush by it, my leg gets a black streak too.

With the rescue complete, a am a happy camper. Thank you Dave!

While we don't allow advertisers on the forum, I want to plug fellow Heartland product owners Ken and Kathy Adams (kakampers). They rep Rescue Tape and that's where Dave got his.

Jim

Yep, my cruise control handle fell off the gear shift in my truck and I glued it back and then secured it on with black RESCUE TAPE. My garden hose was about to break and the fitting and i fixed it before it broke with red RESCUE TAPE. Hmmmm, I wonder if RESCUE TAPE would work on the mouth of a dog that barks too much? (just joking for you dog lovers out there)

imchud...Rescue Tape is available in some Ace Hardware and True Value hardware stores. It is also now available in some Pilot, Loves and T/A truck stops. HOWEVER...whenever you find it in a store it will cost minimum $9.95 per roll!!

Your best bet is to always buy it from a distributor at the promotional pricing...usually at a show...need more info just PM me....
