This campground is owned and operated by a non profit Called Wheatland Regional

They are Wheatland Regional Center which provides residential and vocational support to people living with intellectual disabilities. They support 25 individuals in three group homes and have been operating in Rosetown for some 45 years.

Income from the campground provides funding for projects such as transportation needs and program support

The Campground has 14 pull through sites and several more sites that are very big rig friendly.

At present they cannot take credit cards as that would cut into the profits of which they use to fund their organization. They do have debit for paying of camp fees.

You can make your reservations through me.

I have given them a personal cheque to secure the sites

Sasktel ( our phone carrier) is planning on installing a wifi tower close by.

I hope to have a competitive Bar B que team doing supper on Friday and Saturday

We have an agreement with Glen Gillis a world renowned Saxophonist who will come out to entertain us.

Pre-Rally Opportunity:
------------------------------
On August 7th, there is an Elvis tribute show at Dakota dunes Casino in Saskatoon called "Rock Your Summer with Rory Allen’s Tribute to Elvis."

Rory Allen has has been around for quite a while and us very popular.

Tickets are $50.00 which includes a very good buffet, we go to these shows often so can attest to the food.
here is a link to check it out.

If we have some people interested in attending I will book the table.

Don and Janina,

Update for Belettis:

I'm not sure how to make reservations for this rally, but for now, our plan would be to:

Arrive: 5-Aug
Depart: 12-Aug
Nights: 7
Site: tbd

So that's our "plan". We'll be heading to the Alberta rally the weekend after this rally and are hopeful that many Saskatchewan attendees will be able to join us in support the of the Alberta rally.

hello
I am going to Rosetown in the morning to meet with the group that operate the campground.
They are a non profit organization who provide shelter for specialty needs adults.

They are limited in their experience so I will work something out so we can get people registered.

I will also be confirming mainline RV support and participation in the rally.
Don & Janina

I have been to Rosetown and met with the Campground operators a non profit called Wheatland Regional Center.
At present they do not have the ability to process credit cards, they can process debit cards.

In order to ensure that we have the sites required I gave them a personal cheque to hold 19 sites until June 1st. So we have to make that the cut off. That being said, if something happens and you find that after June 1st you can attend, they have 30 sites in total and will fit you in. Let me know.

I found that the Greens have contacted the Director and are so reserved. Here is the email for the organization.
The mans name is

Roger Haugen
wrcf@sasktel.net

When you email him please cc myself at don_ewart@sasktel.net.
So far I have my wife and myself, the Beletti's, the Greens, the cherry's, the browns, the cardinals.

Hello everyone, yesterday I drove out to Rosetown to meet with the owners of Mainline RV, GMC,Dodge dealership. Yes, they have a separate dealership for each brand. I have been talking to them about sponsorship. They agreed to sponsor the 2 dinners and provide the location for the meals prior to Christmas but I did not have a written confirmation. I now have that. The reason for asking for a location to eat is, everyone in Saskatchewan knows that if you don't like the weather, wait an hour and it will change. WE will have the 2 meals inside. They also have offered to obtain a meeting liquor permit. In Saskatchewan you require that if you have a group and there is booze. You will be able to bring your favorite beverage.

Keegan will also provide several door prizes.

While I was in Rosetown I went to the Wheatland Center and gave them the reservations we have thus far.

Here is an FYI, yesterday the temperature here was -49 c. For those that do not know wind chill effects, I will give you the colder than list. in degrees. We were colder than
78 degrees colder than Colorado Springs
128 degrees colder than Orlando

Exposed skin will freeze in 5 minutes frost bite in 10.

During the summer in Saskatchewan the average temp is in the high 70's low 80's.

Watch for more info once it is confirmed.

Hi Don,

I'd like to confirm a couple of things...

1. What is the street address for the campground? I see it's on Marshall Avenue. Maybe there isn't a number?

2. Does the image below where I have added red lines, depict good routing into the campground off Marshall, then up into rows?
62149

3. Do you think by rally time, the campground will take credit cards? If yes, will they take a US issued card? If no, will they take US currency or only Canadian? This is new territory for me - sorry.

4. To pay, is there an office at the campground or is there some other arrangement?

5. If you have added me to the list and my dates are good to go, do I need to do anything else other than show up?

Thanks Don!

Hi Jim

Thank you for the questions

I'd like to confirm a couple of things...

1. What is the street address for the campground? I see it's on Marshall Avenue. Maybe there isn't a number?

I don't know, I just followed the signs. I am in BC right now. It is my plan to go to Rosetown on July 15th to ensure several things so I will confirm everything on the 16th.

2. Does the image below where I have added red lines, depict good routing into the campground off Marshall, then up into rows?
Attachment 62149 (https://heartlandowners.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=62149)

If you are coming into Canada and travel to Rosetown on Highway 4, you would turn right at the 4 way stop sign in
Rosetown. Travel until you see the camp ground sign maybe 1 - 2 km. It will be a left hand turn.

3. Do you think by rally time, the campground will take credit cards? If yes, will they take a US issued card? If no, will they take US currency or only Canadian? This is new territory for me - sorry.

THey have no plans to take CC as it costs them too much. They can take debit and they will take any cash that is real. They are a non profit association and the campground is a fund raiser for them.

4. To pay, is there an office at the campground or is there some other arrangement?

No office so to speak but there will be a person camped there who can take money. I will confirm in July. The gentleman who had been they on a temporary basis for 10 years has retired.

5. If you have added me to the list and my dates are good to go, do I need to do anything else other than show up?

Thats right, I have regularly updated the list with the main office. I put a deposit on each site to hold them I will get my money back once everyone shows up.

Jim, I will be out there when you arrive. I will have to go back to Saskatoon to get Janina Wednesday afternoon.

Hear Yee, Hear Yee, Hear Yee!!!

We have confirmation that Mainline RV is hosting our dinner on Friday and Saturday.

Here is an agenda which shall be subject to change

After dinner BS fire and maybe some Crown Royal Tasting at Don & Janina s site

August 7 Early Arrivals

Don is going to Saskatoon to get Janina anyone wishes to follow to see the big city
6pm Dinner at the Pub on Main street if you wish
After Dinner Story telling fire at Don & Janina's site

August 8 6pm Early arrivals order in Pizza at the camp ground

August 9 Watch for incoming RV's so we can meet and greet
5pm Travel to Mainline RV Tour their RV's , boats, Power sports machines, dinner about 6pm provided by Mainline

Please note Well Mainline is offering shuttle back to camp ground should some extra wine etc fall down your throat. They are picking up a special license so you can bring your own refreshments.
After dinner If it is not too late, fire at Don & Janina s site

August 10th Free day, I have been working on securing a special event, it has not happened yet so if it does not come to pass you can go golfing, go to Saskatoon lounge around until 5pm, report to Mainline

I am putting this information here just to see who read the entire thing.

I was having a great deal of trouble getting draw items for door prizes my score 12 visits zero items. Doug from the Alberta chapter indicated he was wasting his time doing this so came up with a novel idea.

Each RV brings a pre wrapped gift of about a $30 dollar value, we place them on the table Draw tickets to see who goes up. You do not open them until everyone has a wrapped gift, then if you feel you like the package someone else has you go and switch. You can only switch once. There is a 10 minute time limit on the switching.
when that is up. you open the gift you are left with. Here is a tip Do not look at the person you took your gift from as they may have a better one, which you gave them

If you have accessed this agenda, email me at don_ewart@sasktel.net to confirm. Also, if you have registered to attend, email me so I do have your email address.

This is our first rally so we are allowed to mess up this year

I hope everyone has a great time and participates in the 4x4 ride The meat provider did not bring hamburger patties he brought ribs for both nights. We will just have to adapt.

Everyone has arrived, we had a very nice meal last night provided by Mainline RV. Mike the GM keeps asking, " Is there anything we can help with"?

After the dinner we had an opertunity to veiw the 14 remaining units he has left which included a Landmark 365 he has offered an incredible price on.

Later we sat around a campfire and told stories full of truths as we individually understood them about our "misadventures" with our RV's

We had a nice breakfast this morning of scrambled eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and coffee.

After breakfast, I went by our rally sponsoring dealership, Mainline and picked up a few parts. They gave us a 30% discount - nice!

This afternoon, a number of us went to Mainline RV and drove some quads - lots of fun!

I did a few RV mods and repairs today and worked a bit on another Heartlander's rig.

Looking forward to a nice dinner at the rally sponsoring dealer tonight.

Soon we will be hitting the road. Some heading home some heading to Camrose and the Alberta rally.

Yesterday afternoon
Mainline gave some people from the rally an opportunity to go out and ride side by side ATV's provided by Mainline.

Last night we dined on baby back ribs and caeser salad provided by Mainline. We then had an appearance by Glen Gillis a world renowned Saxophonist who gave us a little education and some very fine entertainment.

We rounded out the night with a campfire and visit.

It became obvious very soon that everyone was tired as people began fading away.

We will have coffee and Tim's donuts for everyone at 8am for those departing early.

Thank you all for your support and attendance. Janina and I very much appreciate everything everyone has done to assist use.
See you in Camrose next week.
