Bighorn Slide "D" Seal keeps sliding off - Fix?

My "D" seal keeps sliding off. I have screwed it down with a washer at one end, but that keeps pulling out. Somewhere I read that it needs to be caulked - If yes, what product should I use to caulk it?

Thanks!

I used a clear silicone caulk in a tube. Bought at the rv store.

So is the screw coming out after you tighten it up? On mine the screw had torn thru the slide seal and ripped out, allowing the seal to slide off its rail and fall off. So i had to put an new hole in the D seal backer to hold it solid. Caulking the screw, it would help to stop moisture from wicking into the hole, depending on where the seal is.

What I've done when I've replaced the 'D' seals on my Landmark is to cut some of the hard rubber from the old seal and use it as a washer behind the metal/fender washer if you use them.

In place of the original washers that pull through the rubber seal, I installed two hole metal mending plates as a "bigger washer" with more area.
