Turn signal wiring question

Hi everyone

I have a wiring question I cannot find an answer to and curious if someone knows. I saw on a fire truck one time that when the driver turns on a turn signal a light turns on over the dual rear tires. This illuminated the tires so the driver could easily see the duals in the side mirrors at night time going around corners.

I would like to do the same on my trailer, but I can’t figure out how to wire it because the turn signal sends out a flashing and I need a continuous electrical current for a light. I would like to put in a relay and power some nice baja led lights over the tires

Thank-you for your time

Eric

I would think that you could pickup from the hot wire going to the flasher when the turn signal is activated. The wire going to the flasher would be a continuous hot while the wire from the flasher would be an interrupted hot.
