hooking up a solar controller for Pre Wired 2018 T285

HowDee!

I have a T285 Toy Hauler and it came with the Solar wiring pre installed (at least that is what the sticker says :) ). I bought this controller … I am a little concerned about the space available as the other side of the panel where it says to mount it sits the refrigerator.

Im afraid if I cut the hole to mount the controller and to see the wires for hooking it up the fridge will be right there. :(

Thoughts? Anyone done this before?

Can't comment on your RV's layout...sorry.

However, I do have a few other thoughts.

1 - how much solar are you planning to install? The reason I ask is I am guessing "pre-wired" setup is a very small AWG wire, and trying to carry anything large amount over them will be an issue.

2 - I think the controller you have only supports up to 400 watts and only supports parallel wiring setups.

We plan on installing a second battery and using the panel, which is a 300 watt panel to keep the batteries charged while disconnected. Would like to not have to run the generator to keep batteries charged.
Don't plan on using an inverter.

All installed. The control module was a little deeper the I could fit. I will need to make a mulching box this weekend.
Pretty happy overall though.

Where your solar panel wires already ran on the roof? I have a T32, I see the cables on the roof but cannot find where they are ran to in or under the trailer. Thanks

A lot of times there will be what looks like a plug in for a solar panel. It will be a fixture that has two cylinders side by side and is black generally speaking.
