What glue to use to secure loose flooring?

The flooring around one of the heater registers in the kitchen has come loose. About 3 to 5 inches from the register all the way around. What glue can I use to be able to get all the way into the space? Can I use glue in a spray can with one of those straws. Will glue from a spray can hold?

I would probably use Liquid Nails and distribute the glue as well as possible under the flooring, and finish distribution with a flat popsicle stick, tongue depressor, to finish distribution. Heavy weight applied to the repair surface until cured. Be sure to clean underneath as well as you can prior to applying the glue.
