LP Detector/12 volt lamps

Help! I've got a wierd one. It appeared that the lights burned out in one of the lamps in the LR. So we tried replacing them. The light would not come on, but instead the LP detector started going off and on in conjunction with pushing the light switch off and on. Then, the other light in the LR went off.

Any ideas? We still have not figured out the connection or how to get the lights fixed.

Problem solved

OK. Steve figured it out. Last night we had a power surge which caused the two 12 volt bulbs in the LR lamp to burn out which also blew the fuse in the circuit box labeled 'rear ac.' The two good bulbs were feeding the false reading to the LP sensor and setting the alarm off. We replaced the fuse, threw away the bad bulbs and everything seems to work ok.

But the question still remains -- what did all this have to do with the LP sensor alarm??? And what is causing the 12 volt power surge??

If you are getting surges you might want to consider getting a protector like a SurgeGuard. Surges can cause expensive damage to major components like the fridge, microwave, etc

Eh!
