Window shade re-string question

For the first time ever, we have had a string break on the day/night shade on our Big Country 5th wheel.
Does the valance need to be totally removed to take the blind off to be the-strung or is it possible to remove the blind without removing the side and top valance panels? They look a little difficult to remove.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

We always removed ours in order to restring. It takes a little patience to remove them, but I used a small right angle ratchet to make the job go easy. You can reach up to the top bar and feel the indent where the flathead square drive screw goes through the bar and enters the wall.

I remove the valance then the shade.
I keep the shade closed with a small tie down.
I open the top and disconnect the string from the spring ( there are two strings) . Next I melt the new and old string together and the pull the new string through the shade.
I've never done it as the instructions state because you use twice as much string.

I have restrung all of our shades in out old class C. I purchased a kit on line using stronger cord. I found that all the holes the cord went through had sharp burs and some of the eyelets had worn through cutting the cord. I de-burred the holes, inserted the new eyelets and followed the easy to follow directions that came with the kit. I did use the S&B dinning room table which made it easier.
