Outdoor Cooktop Knob Problem

We have just bought a 2019 Heartland Wilderness 3125BH and we are having issues with the knobs on the outdoor cooktop. More often than not, the knobs will not push down and twist to turn on the gas. It seems that the knobs keep sliding down the post and not “catching” when I push down on them. Has anyone ran across this and what should be done? Is it a design flaw?

Can you provide the manufacturer name and model number of this stove? If you can, I can try to find contact info for who distributes this to Heartland. With that info, you can work with the distributor to find a solution.

This said, the OP would still like experience / feedback from others with this stove.

For a quick fix until you get the new knobs, maybe you could put something like a wooden matchstick cut to length, or wadded up paper inside the knob hole, so the knob sits on the shaft at the correct depth to push in and start the gas.
