I am planning the Spring Las Vegas rally; the rally rules have changed considerably.
Heartland owners will be responsible for ‘spreading their wealth’, you must bring guests in your rig that do not own an RV or many know nothing about RV'ing. You must bring extra food to the potluck dinner without any expense to your guests. If your guests desire to purchase an RV of their own, you should offer to co-sign for their loan.
<O:pThis is just our way to show that we are doing our part as RV'ers.
<O:p</O:p:eek::eek:

Hi Rog, I guess I am confused. You see, I have a part time job. Everytime I get payed there are taxes taken out. I also get a SS check every month. My confusion lies in the fact that while I am still working I guess I am still still giving the Gov. my money to send back to me. It gets even better, at the end of the year I have to pay taxes on it again. I wish I was invited to a AIG party since its my tax dollars (400K) they are spending. Bob:confused:

The worst part of This is we don't have the money.Get ready for a giant wave of inflation. Deeper in debt to China. Scarry. We all know what happens when you charge to much. I guess our government hasn't learned that yet. My 2 cents.

I think Socialism will begin in Jan 2009 for sure. If all the things happen that has been promised we are in deep trouble. There is no way 5% of America can support 95%. That is the problem now TAXes and giving people things they haven't earned or want work for. It's give me, give me, the money you worked for. Its not fair for others to have more than me, you should give me your money. And the new President says he will take money from the people who have worked for it and give it to the ones who want. Some may remember when interest rates were 21% and to borrow money for cars and Trucks were 12%, it didn't work then and it want work now. People have voted for this and it will happen. Hang on its going to get tuff. GBY......

What country comes to mind on this item?

Bar Stool Economics

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten
comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it
would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day
and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner
threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers, he said,
'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the
ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so
the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But
what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they
divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted
that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would
each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested
that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same
amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (2 5% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four
continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to
the tenth man,' but he got $10!'

'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar,
too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!'

'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'

'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get
anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat
down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill,
they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money
between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our
tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most
benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being
wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might
start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

What is really sad is that the powers to be who are now in charge of this "change" know exactly how basic economics works. They just don't care! They get theirs reguardless of how the country might suffer.

Forrest, I almost posted that piece, good for you. You made it out of Calif just in time. The eigth largest economy in the world......is broke. The state has voted itself into a hole, as failing democracies have in the past. In every election I have voted in the "people" have passed every bond issue and giveaway imaginable.
I would like to take tis opportunity to thank all of the "out of state" forum members in advance as I am sure that the government is going to "bail me out"!
FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE : If you would like to make direct wire deposits to my account send me a PM and I will be happy to give you the bank routing number and wiring instructions. By wiring the money to me directly you will save time and paperwork, after all I am in Calif and saving paper and going green is really what it is all about! I will happily redistribute your wealth for you......one less thing for you to worry about......................

We need to be able to keep more of our tax money locally. We don't need to send it to Washington so that they can take out there administration fees and send us back a small portion of the money we sent them for something we don't even need. We know what we need locally. We don't need to send them $ 1.00 for schools and they send us maybe 50 cents back for books when we have good books but really need a new roof or heating system. You have to take the books that you have no use for or you won't get the money for more of what you might or might not need the following year. lets see if we can reroof and keep the classroom warm with books. That is efficiency. We need to raise taxes to give our government more money to do more of there handy work. Lets do this with health care. I would love to get 50 cents on the dollar for health care.

What are we going to do when half the people are on the government payroll another portion is on welfare of some sort and the majority of the goods we purchase are manufactured in another country. We can't just can't survive this way. We have a recipe for disaster. What ever happened to families taking care of families and friends taking care of friends. We have become so lazy as a country and reliant on the government for everything. Anything we get from the government is free right. We have traded our freedom in for laziness. It used to be that freeloading was not an option now it is more like a right. Our country was founded on freedom to live they way we wanted with limited government interference. So what are we doing telling other countries what to do. can't we stay out of there business. Maybe they wouldn't send Jets into our buildings if we just stayed out of there way and protected our homeland. What made us the worlds savior. This goes against what our country was founded on. We think we are right and other countries should be forced to run things like us as we slip further into full on socialism.

Unfortunately, too many voted FOR socialism. Back to the old tax and spend policies. If you've got two nickels to rub together, they'll want you to give them three.

Test Complete

Hi,

I am closing this thread in this experimental sub-forum. I will leave the sub-forum for Non-RV Related Discussion open "for now". While this was a bit interesting, let's try to keep the world politics, as interesting as they may be, off the forum as a main thread or post topic. Many other online forums for politics.

Thanks,

Jim
