Water heater temp adjustment

Can the temperature of the hot water heater by turned down. The hot water is near scalding.

I know there are no adjustments that can be made by the consumer but someone may know if there is anyway it can be done by a different circuit board. I wish the water heaters still used the old technology of going outside and lighting them manually and adjusting the temp with the gas valve.

Do you have both the propane and electric heating your hot water? I find that if I just heat with electric, that the temp is lower than if I heat with propane and if I have both on, it gets uncomfortable hot. Just a thought.

Same here...electric gets plenty hot...but, turn the propane on...and it's boiling.
